Germans Balart 'Petitona'
"There’s a kind of magic in the modest—those everyday bottles that, when opened, can carry us far beyond the ordinary. A wine must speak the same language as its place, its maker, and its drinker. Petitona captures that dialect: humble yet expressive, modern yet rooted. The Balart brothers understand that nature, not the winemaker, has the final word. Their philosophy mirrors the humility I seek in the wines I import: thoughtful, unforced, quietly confident."
The Garnatxa Negra and Carinyena used to elaborate the Petitona from Germans Balart come from several plots located in the municipality of Gandesa (Tarragona) and the surrounding villages. The vines are between 15 - 25 years and planted on calcareous clay soils. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and bottled young.
Petitona is a collaborative private label between Germans Balart and Vinovi&Co, and named for Núria's daughter, Ona, who created the label art when she was 8 years old.
