Alemany i Corrio, 'El Microscopi'
The 80% Carinyena and the 20% Merlot for El Microscopi undergoes a 10 day pre-fermentation cold soak maceration; ferments in stainless steel, with wild yeast. Unfiltered.
"El Microscopi" (the microscope) was so-named because the proceeds from sales go to raise funds for the oncology department at the hospital in which Irene was treated for breast cancer. She and Laurent asked how they could give back, and were told that there was a lack of microscopes.
This wine's purpose is to support—above all—women affected by breast cancer by contributing, in a small scale, to a cause that is deeply personal to Irene Alemany. Through this project, Irene and Laurent hope to give back a fraction of the extraordinary love, care, and support she received, knowing that it can never truly be repaid.
This wine also seeks to raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer research. Beyond its charitable mission, however, it is crafted with the utmost respect for all those who have faced, or will face, this disease.
Irene and Laurent commitment extends equally to the quality of the wine itself. They set out to create a wine that is elegant, fresh, and vibrant, with a gentle texture and an inviting palate—one that reflects the remarkable strength, resilience, and optimism of the women who inspire it. "As someone who has personally experienced this journey, I wanted this wine to honor the limitless energy and positive outlook on life shared by so many affected by breast cancer." says Irene Alemany.
