Coto de Gomariz 'Gomariz X'
"It is an Albariño wine from the interior of Galicia, far from the influence of the sea, resulting in a mature, complex wine with very balanced acidity, compared to the Albariño from the Atlantic coast."
The grapes for this 95% Albariño and 5% Treixadura come from the As Panelas and O Taboleiro plots, and are farmed without any synthetic applications or insecticides. The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented at low temperature in stainless steel vats using indigenous, wild yeasts, before bottling on a Flower Day (when the moon is in an Air sign) according to the biodynamic calendar.
This wine is named Gomariz 'X' as a reference to the gallego word 'xisto', or 'schist' in English - the granitic soil that is characteristic of this region.
