Fento 'Ollo de Sapo'

(From the same visionary winemakers that brings us the Bico da Ran Albariño and the Xabre Mencía, Ollo de Sapo is a Mencía from the subzone Ribeiras do Miño in Ribeira Sacra made by Eulogio Pomares and Rebeca Montero. 

This is a young red wine, hand harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before bottling. Ollo de Sapo is brand new to the United States and Vinovi & Co. is the exclusive importer. 

Ollo de Sapo is a type of metamorphic rock that predominates in the soil, which gives it the appearance of a 'frog's eye', or an 'ollo de sapo'. This is due to the presence of large crystals such as quartz.
