Mas des Caprices, 'Avis d'Blanc Frais'
"Situated between Narbonne and Perpignan, on the border of the Languedoc and Roussillon regions, the vineyard extends over 16 hectares on the Leucate and Fitou villages. We are above all respectful of Nature and what it gives us. From the outset, we have been committed to biodynamic agriculture, working our vines every year to ensure that our wines combine ripeness and freshness of fruit, and have done so ever since we set up in 2005."
The grapes for this Maccabeu and Grenache Blanc blend are harvested entirely by hand. Fermented using indigenous yeast with regular racking to 'slim down' the wine to ensure tension and liveliness. Aged in fiber vats between five and six months before bottling at the estate in spring.
Avis d'Blanc Frais, made by Mireille and Pierre Mann of Mas des Caprices (Ze Fitou, Ozé le Rosé, Retour aux Sources) is a new wine to the United States, and a brand new addition to the Vinovi & Co portfolio.
